Second verse, same as the first. I'm heading to Scotland tonight.
Saturday is a cruise on Azamara Journey's voyage of castles, distilleries and pubs, ending in Dublin. Please don't leave without me.
Didn't make it to Scotland last night, as storms from the Ohio Valley to New York delayed my planes and plans, and those of thousands of others, many headed for the 2012 Olympics in London. After about 5 hours at the airport in Cleveland last evening, I headed home, ready to try again the next day.
I awoke this morning with two thoughts. First I cursed my bad luck at being delayed and losing a night and day in Edinburgh. Then came a far more powerful thought, gratitude for all the work by United and other airline pilots, crews, agents, and transportation workers who kept us all safe from harm last night and did their best to get us where we were trying to go.
When everybody gets through a stormy night like last, somebody — lots of somebodys — did something right.
